Alternate Reality Blues ...

So last night Temp and me went on a mission to an alternate world of perpetual darkness where the
only living things seemed to be werewolves.

Found a journal and it turns out it got this way because this world's version of me failed to stop something
from happening. In essence, a world died because Other-Me screwed up.

Temp's reaction?

"Darn."

I hate world-hopping sometimes ...

I really wish this armor had come with an instruction manual ...

All I have to say is that I never expected that effect when I
started adjusting the controls to see if I could approve my
stealth field ... and I'm sure that you'll suffer no lasting
effects from being constantly turned invisible ...

Back again. Been busy once more.

Looks like I owe Gung something of an apology. His whole "The Crey Must Fall!" bit was
starting to sound more than a little paranoid, but last night's trip to Brickstown showed
that he had a point: Crey's so-called Paragon Protectors aren't exactly what I expected
of them from the pr machine at Crey ... let's just say the difference between them and
the Freakshow isn't as big as I thought ...

What? Me have an idea why so many of them wound up lying unconscious
on the streets last night? Don't be ridiculous. *Whistles Innocently*

Did find something else on my rifle that really made me wish that Mom had left me an
instruction manual for the thing: a flamethrower. Yeah, I've got some fire powers of
my own, but nothing like this ... I've been running around this city for months and just
found out last night I had a "crispy" button on the thing ...

Ah, well. Water under the bridge.

Lunchtime today I was delivering a pizza to the Icon Store in Independence Port and
the head tailor/manager asked me step in the back. She must have "hero-dar" or
something because she knew about my other job-- or maybe she saw me land in front
of the store-- and asked me to help them out of a jam. Seems that a certain large
corporation-- *cough* Crey *cough* had gotten wind of a new manufacturing process
Icon had come up with and was trying to "persuade" them to sell it to Crey at cost ...

To make a long story short, my friend Temp and I managed to "persuade" the Crey it
wouldn't be a good idea, and they withdrew their offer ....

As a reward, Icon gave me some new equipment. With a little device they gave me I can
not only switch from my armor to civvies in an instant-- and you have no idea how much
time that's going to save me in the restroom on patrol nights-- I can also configure my
armor into a new design without losing any of its abilities or protections.

Check out my new suit. Dont I look spiffy? 8-)

Battlin' With Beauties

Okay.

Just a short note 'cause I'm dead on my feet. Been a long day ...

Wound up fighting Freakshow with Temptation tonight. And this is going to sound strange
coming from a guy who uses a suit of armor, but .. there is a point when too much technology
becomes a bad thing.

Wearing armor that lets you fly, teleport other people, and turn translucent? That's a good
thing.

Replacing your arms with gigantic mallets or electrodes? Not so good ...

And how on Earth are they going to the bathroom? They've probably been
holding it in since they got their prosthetic limbs. No wonder they look constipated all the
time ...

Temp and I had to find four Freakshow tanks-- big guys about 9 feet tall and every bit as
powerful as their namesakes-- in what felt like a small town. I don't know how often we
flew over that one parking garage before we finally found the last one ...

I no sooner got done with that then I heard from Lusi ... Elusian. She'd just picked up a
new power and wanted me to see it ... in a word, Phantasms are awesome ... could have
watched her all night ...

Now where did that come from?

Okay. Now I really need to go to bed. Going to be a long day tomorrow.

Victory Has The Taste of Ashes Right Now ...

So I ran into Temp today and she helped with a mission dealing with the Freakshow ... a bunch of
punks who've graduated from the usual tattoos into actual cybernetic modification. They were
tough, but Temp and I was tougher.

After that, I asked Temp if I could help her with a mish of hers ... you know, to thank her for all
the help that she's given me. And she said that she could use some help with a mission that would
take us through a dimensional portal to the world of the Hydra ... the ... well, for lack of a better
term ... slime monsters that have infested Perez Park since the Ritki invasion. I readily agreed, and
we went to the Portal Corporation and hopped through the portal to that world ... this is my third
trip through te Portals, and I have to say that I'll never get over that eerie sensation as you
traverse the dimensional barrier and land in a world that could be nothing like your own ... or all
similiar to it.

This time, the world of the Hydra surprised me ... it was beautiful. Not a noxious swamp, but a
pleasant woodland area. It was was a really peaceful place ....

Until Temp and I started attacking them ....

We had to do it. We were there to learn information to help Paragon City deal with the Hydra
that are here. Temp said there was no other way, and I believe her. I need to believe her ... but
I didn't feel like a hero.

I felt no better than the Ritki themselves.

In Perez, I didn't think twice about it. They were invaders. They were a danger to civilians and
heroes alike. They don't belong here.

But on their world? In their home?

We were the invaders. All they were doing was defending what was theirs ... but they didn't really
have a chance against us.

Somehow that doesn't make me feel any better.

We got the sample that the doc had asked Temp to get, and the Portal Corp recalled us back
and the Doc was able to synthesize a compound that'd let us understand the Spawn, and then
we went back in to another location ....

And we attacked them again ...

We found some Ritki portals there ... and Ritki soldiers. We took them out and shut down the
portals. We came across a Hydra Leader having a discussion with the Ritki commander and
we found out that the Ritki had been kidnapping the Hydra and using them as a conscripted
army on their attacks on countless worlds.

The Hydra Leader wouldn't listen to reason, and attacked us alongside the Ritki commander.
I can't say as I blame him. If someone came up to me saying he wanted to help after attacking
dozens of my family and friends, I don't think I'd believe him either.

So we took him down too.

Maybe in the long run, we did some good there. We destroyed the Ritki portals. We helped
come up with a process that may help us communicate with the Hydra someday and bring
peace between us. In the long run, what we did was right.

But right now, I don't feel like a hero. I feel like a monster. I feel dirty, and I wonder
if I'm ever going to feel clean again....

I need another shower ....

Movie Time

So I don't work today, and this morning I managed to sneak into the movie
theater and see The Incredibles.

It was a lot of fun. I'm still bouncing off the walls from it. I don't want to
say too much about it because I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but let's
just say that as a working super hero myself I can see where Mr. Incredible
was coming from.

I want to see it again. I'll have to see if I can talk Lady or Elusian into going
to it with me ...

Halloween ... Paragon City Style

So Friday night I'm flying through Steel Canyon on the way to meet Elusian ... when something orange and
minivan-sized walks past me... that's right, walks. Given that I was about 100 feet up in the air at the
time you can imagine my surprise. I stopped, doubled back and saw ...

Well, you ever "A Nightmare Before Christmas"? Remember Jack, the Pumpkin King? Especially when he
wore a flaming pumpkin head in his introductory song?

Picture that ... and then make it about 100 feet tall.

Uh, yeah.

That was only the start of it. Most of the delivery boys who DON'T have super powers took the weekend
off. I found out why when I made my deliveries ... and let me just tell you this, werewolves are LOUSY
tippers!

Still, the extra cash will come in nice ... gotta salt away some for Christmas ...

I just wonder if I'm going to be facing Demented Snowmen and Laser Nosed Reindeers
come December 25th ...

And I'll Never Step On An Ant Again ...

So, was visiting Pergrine Island with my friends Temptation and Nightvale. Lovely place, lovely
ladies ... you'd think I'd have one heck of a time ...

Until I wound up getting up close and personal with a giant monster's foot...

Ever been stepped on by something that's about ten times your size? I don't recommend it.
Even with my armor's protection I just about made a me-sized hole in the ground after the
walking hill called Quarry decided to saunter in my direction. I know it's a cliche, but I don't
understand how something that big can move that fast ...

Well, I guess being able to cover a quarter of a block with every step is going
to let you cover the ground pretty quickly, but you know what I mean ...

Anyway, Temp's one heck of a healer and she got me feeling right as rain again ... but wound up
getting stepped on once or twice herself.

It's not easy being a hero.

Also took down about 90 Family-- a sort of poor man's mafia 'cept more of them than I like
have super powers-- and about 60 Sky Raiders ... tell you, those guys give powered armor a
bad name!

Wound up the night helping an old friend named Psyfrost take out a COT baddie called Envy of
Darkness. With the way my luck's been running today, he did happen to be a ginormous monster
almost as big as Quarry, but he was facing eight super heroes who kept him on the ropes pretty
darn well-- grenade launcher I love you-- until we put him down for the count.

Now it's time for all good little super heroes to be in bed ...

All work and no play ...

Makes Blue a busy super hero!

Haven't been updating this thing as often as I should, but between work
and the hero biz I've not had much free time. Boss is talking about having
me deliver to some of the better parts of the city like Talos and Independence
Port ... they tip pretty well there, I've heard, and best of all-- no zombie vomit!
*Big Grin*

Though if you think that you've got a problem with crabgrass
where you live, you should try IP-- talk about weeds with an attitude! Ugh!

I haven't seen Lady in ages, so ... yeah. Guess we'll just see what happens.

Saw Lusi the other day and helped her take out some Tsoo. Was fun to work with
her again. She just got herself a new costume, and looked lovely as ever in it.

Going to have to say more about my new teammates when I get a chance, but I'm
glad that I'm working with such a great group of heroes. You wouldn't believe how
many "heroes" out there I wouldn't trust to get a kitten out of a tree ...

And check it out! I accessorized!

Okay, been a busy last couple of weeks ...

Things I did:

1. Helped fight an invasion of giant alien eyeballs.
2. Fought crime with lots of really attractive women.
3. Joined a supergroup.
4. Quit a supergroup.
5. Fought crime again with the aforementioned really
attractive women.
6. Joined new supergroup.

Last night, Gung and I went out and fought side by side.
Was a lot of fun. Miss my big buddy.

Things have picked up a bit for me on the hero front lately.

Teamed up with a large group the other day in Dark Astoria and we mowed down
Banished Pantheon baddies like they were grass ... of course they seem to just pop
back up the moment your back is turned, but maybe our efforts help the poor lost
souls of that place rest a little easier knowing that someone is giving a little pain
back to their attackers ...

After that ... after that I spent a bit more time with Lusi ... er, Elusian. She'd just
picked up a new power and was showing off her Phantom Army ... a power that my
long lost buddy Sweet Pea had. Made me feel kind of nolstagic...

She's fun. I always feel chipper after spending time with her. She's got a way of
lighting up a room with her smile ... even while she's unleashing a world of hurtin' on
the bad guys ...

I don't miss Lady quite as much when I'm with her ...

Today ... well, today I saw that Temptation was on a mish when I went out for a
quick late night patrol .... I didn't have much else to do, so I waited for her to
finish up her task, and then I tp'd her and her friend Nightvale back to the
secure gate at Dark Astoria so they wouldn't have to wade through zombies
all the way back. Night had to go, but Temp and I talked a bit ... caught up
on news and the like ... we'd both heard Statesman's announcement that some
unusual energy readings were being detected and that he was warning all heroes
to be on their guard for something big .... and, um ...

We went skinny dipping outside the DA gate.

Nothing naughty happened ... but .... I'm a guy, okay? I was floating in the water
with a beautiful naked woman ... and let's just say that I wasn't in any hurry to
get out of the situation ...

Heroic Code only goes so far ...

But I have to admit that I'm feeling a bit ... guilty?

I've been enjoying the time that I've spent with Lusi ... with Temp. Nothing
naughty, mind you ... but just having a good time with a couple of extremely
attractive women ...

I miss Lady ...but I can't put my life on hold for her, can I? If she's going to
just disappear on me for weeks at a time without so much as a goodbye, I've
got a right to be happy ...

So why do I feel guilty?

Still no news about the girl who's wearing a version of my armor.

To take my mind off it, I went to Dark Astoria and spent some time kicking zombie
butt with the help of a couple guys called Blood Messiah and Creepshow ... I remember when
heroes used names that were supposed to inspire confidence ...

Blood and I worked together the longest tonight. He's a fire blaster with super speed and some handy
devices. I was using my rifle to take out the shamans (or is that shamen? I can never tell) ... and then his
buddy Creep showed up to lend a hand ....

sigh...

I can remember when my friends were around to fight with ...

I haven't heard back from my friend Halo yet about whether or not I can join his team. If not, Meg also
made the offer for me to join her new group ...

Oddly enough, the com shows that Dark was on briefly tonight too...

Oh well.

I'm moving on. The Battle never ends ...

Work as usual.

No Lady or Gung. I'm pretty much sure I'm not going to see
Pant or Sweet or Dark anytime soon.

I don't know if Lady has found someone else or she's got some kind of
royal duties in Magic Land or whatever you call it ...

All I know is that I'm tired of being alone...

Worked again this weekend. Patrolled a bit. Had a young guy I
teamed with earlier called Sand Dog com me and ask for help
with a guy called Burnster or something like that ... reminded me
of a guy named Scorcher that I'd put away with Dark's help
months ago. When I saw him, he looked like Scorcer's twin...

But I'm not the same guy I was back then. I'm a heck of a lot
stronger and more sure of myself.

Took two shots.

Sighs. Work is getting awfully boring. The COTS have learned
better than to try to sacrifice the delivery boys from this
restaurant ... *evil grin*

Oh well. Guess I'll turn in early tonight...

Maybe tomorrow I'll find some sort of trouble I can get
into ...

And life keeps on goin' ...

It's been almost two months since I saw Pant or Sweet Pea on patrol. I
didn't see Dark, but our Supergroup system showed me that he'd been
active a little more than a week ago. ...

Spoke to my friend Exiled Halo last night. He invited me to join his
team. Said that they could use someone with my skills ...

And I'm thinking about it.

I miss the guys, but I could use some active teammates. You need
someone to watch your back in Paragon, and it's tough to do that
when they're not around ...

And then there's Lady ...

Kickin' It Blue Battler Style...

So, Thursday night I was out on a patrol in Dark Astoria-- the zombies there don't throw up
on you-- and I got a com call from someone I'd met before. A girl named Gremlynn. I'd met her
back when she first came to Pargaon City and took her on a tour of some of the sights ... a view
from on high, y'know? Nothing quite like it ...

Anyway, I met up with her and we made a quick patrol of Perez Park ... somehow, the bad guys
there just aren't as tough as they used to be ... or maybe I'm a heck of a lot tougher than I used
to be... 8-)

Guess there's a little showoff in every guy because I wound up pulling out just about every trick
I had. Gremlynn was giggling and laughing like a school girl ... asked if she was a Blue Battler
fan girl and she said yes. 8-)

She had to go to work then-- even heroes gotta pay their bills....

I had ... fun.

It's been ages since I got to hang with anyone ... saw Halo last week, but we didn't have a chance
to chat. Felt good to be out with someone else ... patrolling's no fun when you do it yourself. 8-(

But last night was even better than Thursday ...

Lady came back!! 8-)

I've been spending a lot of time in Astroria-- the place kind of creeps me out, actually, but I'm
not about to let the heebie jeebies keep me from doing what's right-- and Lady commed me!

I didn't ask her where she'd been. I mean ... what if she's found someone else? I just didn't
want the night spoiled ...

We teamed up in Skyway and then took a detour into Fautline and did a pretty good job of
wiping out Clockworks ...

We said good night after midnight, and I headed back home and into bed ...

Now if I can just get Gung out of the Batcave and out on the patrol ... guy needs a little bad
guy bashing to lighten his mood!

Where have all the heroes gone?

It's been more than a month since I saw Sweet Pea.

Almost that long for Pantheon.

I mostly hear from Gung by note these days: "Pick up a gallon of milk ... and a nuclear fratmitz."

Even Dark has been gone for more than a week.

And it's been almost that long since I saw Lady.

Where did they go?

I miss my friends.

Especially Lady.

Top Secret Hero Stuff....

So, been kinda busy lately ... doing hero stuff, y'know....

Okay, okay. I admit it. I was at the San Diego Comic Con....

Lot of fun, but it's a long way from Paragon City ... and I can't quite fly fast enough
or long enough to get there and back on my own ...

You'd be amazed at how cheap airfare is though if you're willing to
fly on the OUTSIDE of the jet, though ...

Long story, short. Was a very good time. ;-)

But it's good to be back....
